frequently asked questions + tips
How far in advance do I book my bridal trial? - I recommend booking 2-3 months before your wedding date. By then you should have a good idea of what your vision is and you will have enough time to think about any tweaks you may want to make!
How do I secure my date? - You secure your date by paying a booking fee of $50 via PayPal. You can pay this when we confirm my availability.
Do I have to pay the booking fee before my trial? Yes, If you decide within 24 hours that you don't want to book us for your wedding, your deposit will be refunded.
How long will everything take? - I always allow an hour per hairstyle and an hour per makeup application for brides. For everyone else I allow 30 minutes per hairstyle & per makeup application. If your schedule allows, I like to add 30 minutes of buffer time at the end to allow for any last minute changes or touch ups. Whether or not you need two artists will depend on how much time you allow to get ready.
Do I need to bring anything makeup wise? - To put it simply, no! I have every color for every skin tone and pretty much every product anyone could need. However, I do recommend having a lip color to use for touch ups through the day. I have Urban Decay lip products for sale if you want to pock something from them! Lips always need a refresh after talking, kissing, eating and drinking all day. If you have a favorite eye shadow, blush, eyebrow pencil etc. feel free to bring it, I'm more than happy to use it on you, but this is not necessary.
Bring any hair accessories or veils you want to try out at your bridal trial. Feel free to bring clip in hair extensions as well ($15 application fee). These need to be human hair so they can properly hold a curl and withstand heat styling. I recommend buying these at Sally's Beauty Supply & asking for help when you do! A higher end option is Bellami Hair. If you take care of them, they can last for years to come.
Bring photos that represent your wedding day beauty vision to your trial. Pinterest is the best resource for this! Try and pick photos that are similar to you own hair type/color & skin tone. For example, when a blonde client brings me a picture of Beyonce, it probably won't wind up looking like her inspiration! Find a celebrity with your coloring! This will give your vision the most accurate representation.
Day of, we need normal to low backed chairs for hair. Bar stools are great for makeup. Being close to outlets and a table or work surface is a necessity. Window light is a plus!
Cash is the only method of payment on the wedding day, no exceptions. I do not always have change, please plan in advance.
Please arrive with clean, dry hair. I recommend washing the day before, not day of.
Please arrive with clean skin & no makeup. Just a non oily moisturizer if you wish. Using face oils or heavy/ greasy eye creams can ruin your makeups lasting abilities.
